October Recap!

october

Happy Belated Halloween! I swear I keep taking more time to do my monthly wrap ups with each passing month, buuut I’m doing the best I can. I actually had a goal for October and it was to read 6 six books and review 4, I ended up completing the half of that, but it’s still good considering all the things I’ve juggling with lately. Like I said, I read 4 books this month and all of them were so good! I hope to have reviews up for Beautiful and Six of Crows in the next few days!

Release Day Review: A Place In The Sun by R. S. Grey

coverWhen her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.

Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away… that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.

Gianluca.

After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.

But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.

After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

Review

I think most of us have felt like fleeing the country running away from our mothers at some point in our lives. That’s actually extreme and reckless but that’s Georgie for you. She’s also wealthy, but you know, that kinda kills my point. Anyway, she’s gone to Italy and of course nothing feels better than spending your days under the sun with a glass of wine in your hand and gelato in the other, Italian men are appreciated but not necessary, right? Riiiight.

Review + Excerpt: The Fix-Up by Kendall Ryan

30177628From New York Times Bestseller, Kendall Ryan, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

My tempting, and very alpha friend Sterling Quinn is someone I consider off-limits.

It’s not just that we’re friends, he’s also cocky, confident, and British, which means he’s a walking aphrodisiac.

But lately he’s been giving me the look. You know the one. When he thinks I’m not paying attention, and his gaze lingers for too long.

And then we start working together, and that’s when the sexual tension between us gets so thick, I want to hack through it with a machete. I want to make all these deep feelings I’ve harbored for him disappear, because there’s no way this can end well.

The lines between business and pleasure become irrevocably blurred, and I’m stuck between a rock, and Sterling’s very, very hard place.

Rather than keep a level head about our growing attraction, Sterling wants to go all in, showing me just how explosive we can be together.

But I’ve been around long enough to know that this British bad boy is more than my heart can handle. I’m not about to be cast aside like yesterday’s underwear when he’s done having fun.

Sterling’s never been told no, and he’s not about to put his ego aside and play by my rules. But I never thought he’d fight so dirty.

Review

If there’s something I wanted after finishing Hitched – where Cami and Sterling were first introduced – was MORE. And not because it wasn’t enough, but because that distinct chemistry Noah and Olivia had was something I was seriously craving for some while and I just simply wanted more of Kendall Ryan’s characters.

“Waiting On” Wednesday: Feversong by Karen Marie Moning

WOW

I think I’ve mentioned before that this is one of my favorite series, and I wouldn’t be a true fan if I wasn’t expecting this next installment like crazy. So yes, I’m dying to read Feversong. Even with all the inconsistencies that have plagued this series, like cover changes, plot deviations, Dani’s books – It was supposed to be a trilogy, then the books ended up being a part of the main series (?) – But in the end favorites are favorites, even with all the bad stuff, the Fever books continue to be one of my most cherished ones.

If you’re a Fever reader like myself, then I feel like you would find this Facebook post KMM shared a few days ago very interesting. Just careful for spoilers for the previous books.

Feversong releases on January 17th 2017 from Delacorte Press
