Putting all these titles together made excited all over again for each and every one of them, except for those that don’t have a release date yet, those also made me anxious, thank you very much. Favorite Reads of 2015!

favorites

As I was putting together all my favorite reads of 2015, I realized how varied this list was, seriously, YA sci-fi, YA contemporary, adult fantasy, adult thriller and horror, contemporary romance. I’m pleased. This is how I like to read, I sincerely don’t think I could read only one genre for my entire life, I don’t believe in it.

So here I’ve compiled, in no particular order, the best of my reading year!

A Winds of Winter Update

“The book’s not done”

Yes, George R.R. Martin, confirmed today via his blog that the sixth installment of A Song of Ice and Fire series Winds of Winter is not done yet.

This is something I’ve feared for a long time now – something I’ve debated with my friends, over and over, we even had bet going on – that the book won’t come out before the show returns in April. I’m still not quite sure how to deal with this news, but I’m sure a lot GoT fans share the same sentiment, we are not alone.

Looking at the bright side of things I appreciate that George reached out to us, and explained why the book is not done, if you have a few minutes of your time, don’t doubt and visit his blog post. Now I wish we could all reach out to him and say that we understand.

Screen Shot 2015-12-18 at 10.10.29 PM

On December 3rd the cover for Red Queen: The Chronicles of Alice, the sequel to Alice was revealed by TOR.com, and I just wanted to share my excitement over this thrilling duology. Click here to see TOR’s announcement and a excerpt from Alice.

Alice was my favorite novel of this year, and one of my all-time favorites. I was so amazed when I read it that I just couldn’t stop praising, recommending it and talking about it with my friends on Goodreads and well…basically everywhere I can. I need more Hatcher and Alice in my system, honestly the best pair of characters!

Game of Thrones Season 6 Teaser Trailer is here + Short Talk

Screen Shot 2015-12-03 at 5.32.49 PM

Even if it contains only images of previous seasons, I cannot even pretend I’m not excited about this first teaser trailer, which focuses on Jon Snow, obviously. But it also hints at Bran’s potential role in this upcoming season, his amazing storyline was pushed back and we haven’t seen him since season 4, but now we can actually get see how the events of A Dance With Dragons (if) intertwines with Jon’s future. If he has one, that is. Which I believe he does, it would be total hypocrisy if Jon turns out to be really dead. After finishing A Dance with Dragons I remember having at least 4 theories on why Jon couldn’t possibly be dead, different? Yes, but not dead.

But of course we just have to wait and see, my only hope is for Winds of Winter to come out before the show premieres, otherwise I don’t think I’ll be able watch the show, at this point I think of those as two different entities and I can actually enjoy both separately, but I’m not willing to risk my perspective and the whole experience of reading this series just for the show. We need updates on Winds of Winter. ASAP.

Meanwhile, we can only speculate.
